The Japanese Society of Pathology, founded in 1911, is an academic organization who has had over 4,000 members over the last 100 years. Their main activities are student education, academic research and they have a key role in diagnosis. Their autopsy information has been released annually for 50 years, a huge and valuable accumulation of 1,060,000 autopsy data from 1011 facilities all over the country including university hospitals and general hospitals, presenting a real picture of disease in Japan.
